The appointment of Black Stars Coach Charles Akonnor and his two assistants has been cancelled by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council with immediate effect. Following Ghana's Group G World Cup qualifying matches against Ethiopia and South Africa, technical reports from Akonnor and the Black Stars Management Committee were received. After examining the two reports, the Executive Council has decided to part ways with Head Coach C. K Akonnor and his two assistants. The Executive Council has organized a three-person committee, consisting of Vice President Mark Addo, Upper East Side Councilman Mark O'Brien, and Upper East Side Councilman Mark O'Brien.
