Shatta Wale fumes at 3Media Network CEO, saying, "I'm a senior participant in this game."
Shatta Wale, a dancehall rapper, has hit back at Sadiq Abdulai Abu, the CEO of 3Media Network, for belittling his IQ.
Not long ago, the two were at odds after Sadiq claimed that the award-winning singer was becoming an unreliable figure in the music industry.
On Wednesday, during Shatta Wale's chat with Andy Dosty on Daybreak Hitz, the two's animosity erupted once more.
It all started when Shatta Wale said that musicians in Ghana do not make much money from music promotion platforms like iTunes and YouTube.
“I think he should bring the numbers out. He should invite folks from Ghana who are making $1 million via iTunes. Artists in Ghana are unable to earn more than $80,000. Is he aware of the music industry?” Shatta Wale posed a question.
Sadiq responded with a text message in reaction to his remarks.
The message was as follows:
“Wale is always spouting nonsense and going around in circles. Who says you can't know how much money you're making from a song or video these days? It's shocking how such stories are allowed to fester. Isn't Spotify's, Apple Music's, Tidal's, Boomplay's, YouTube's, and other services' payout per song based on the number of subscribers? “It's astonishing that one of our main acts doesn't know,” Sadiq said.
Sadiq expressed his displeasure with Sadiq's statements, claiming that he has no authority to give him advise.
“Sadiq, you want to give advice to an entire pioneer? What is Sadiq referring to? Is he a musician? Business? Sadiq from yesterday wants to give you some advice today? Sad must be counseled by you.
“Sadiq, you want to give advice to an entire pioneer? What is Sadiq referring to? Is he a musician? Business? Sadiq from yesterday wants to give you some advice today? You must inform Sadiq that I am a senior player in this game,” Shatta Wale stated.
