Despite the controversy surrounding Covid-19, the Premier League title chase is expected to continue.

The three-way title race will continue on Sunday, unless the Premier League fixture list is further decimated by the COVID-19 surge that has ripped the pre-Christmas schedule to shreds. Manchester City, Liverpool, and Chelsea will all be in action.

City, who lead the table by a point, host relegation-threatened Newcastle United, while Liverpool, who are in second place, travel to Tottenham Hotspur, who have had their past two league games postponed due to infections.

Chelsea, who were forced to play without three players due to COVID-19 in their 1-1 home match with Everton on Thursday, are the first team to face Wolverhampton Wanderers.

"I've never had three players pull out on matchday." The most essential factor is that because the boys have been vaccinated, they will not be affected. That's excellent. We'll have to hold our breath till they arrive.

"Should we put an end to the league?" I'm not sure what to say. I'm not sure what I'll do if you stop it for two weeks and then we return. There are a lot of questions for which we need answers, but I don't have the answer."

Chelsea are four points behind City following a surprising home draw with Everton, and Thomas Tuchel's team face a difficult test at Wolves, who are eighth after a midweek win at Brighton.

Tuchel refused to get engaged in sports politics when asked if the title race should be put on pause while the protagonists deal with COVID illnesses.

"We're all concerned about COVID; it's on the verge of spreading."
"We're all concerned about COVID because it's so near to us, and we've received four positives so far." Other games have been canceled, but ours has not. He told reporters, "If they decide we have to play, we play."
